Problem:

Error messages in the netprobe log file appear with the warning "PROCESS SAMPLE WARNING Unable to obtain tgid from..".

Possible cause(s):

The message relates to a timing issue; The Processes plugin reads all the process directories in /proc filesytem and when the plugin detects the process id at the start of reading /proc  but the id no longer exists by the time the /proc/<process-id> read is complete the error occurs.

Possible solution(s):

This has been deemed as harmless and there is no impact on monitoring or the environment. If running version GA5.14.2 Netprobe or later these messages will have been supressed unless specific debug options have been turned on.
