Geneos - How to configure systemd scripts for Gateway, Netprobe, and Licence Daemon startup

This is how you can auto start Geneos services with systemd.

1. Create a <name>.service file. Examples have been attached.
• ExecStart and ExecStop should point to the location of your control scripts.
• Description can be changed to anything you prefer.
• If network service is slow to start on machine boot up, include the After= switch to depend on the network.target component
2. Place <name>.service files in /etc/systemd/system/
3. Execute command: sudo systemctl enable <name>.service

If completed successfully, you should be able to call "systemctl start <name>.service" to start that component.

Notes

• It does require root or sudo access to perform the configuration.
• In certain Linux versions, there is known bug with SELinux that prevents execution of the systemctl enable command. A workaround is to change enforcement of SELinux to 0 by running the command "sudo setenforce 0" and then running the enable command.
