Reason
The fonts being used by the Active Console dashboard objects do not exist in the Web Dashboard server.
Before Continuing
The instructions below work on a Web Dashboard that is packaged with its own JRE/Java.Instructions for GA4.12 and post-GA4.12 Web Dashboards
Most of the instructions are taken from https://www.pcworld.com.
- Identify the font being used by the dashboard objects.
- For Microsoft’s TrueType Core fonts which are Andale Mono, Arial, Arial Black, Comic Sans MS, Courier New, Georgia, Impact, Times New Roman, Trebuchet, Verdana, and Webdings:
- Option 1: Install the "corefonts" font package of your server version.
- Option 2: Follow the steps mentioned in the "Instructions for pre-GA4.12 Web Dashboards" section of this article.
- For Microsoft’s ClearType fonts which are Constantia, Corbel, Calibri, Cambria, Candara, and Consolas - Do the following:
- Create a fonts folder in your Web Dashboard's JRE/lib folder.
- Download the fonts_microsoft_cleartype.tar.gz file that is included in this article.
- Extract the fonts to your Web Dashboard's JRE/lib/fonts folder
- For Microsoft’s TrueType Core fonts which are Andale Mono, Arial, Arial Black, Comic Sans MS, Courier New, Georgia, Impact, Times New Roman, Trebuchet, Verdana, and Webdings:
- Shut down the Web Dashboard process.
- Start the Web Dashboard process.
Instructions for pre-GA4.12 Web Dashboards
- Download the microsoft_fonts.tar.gz file that is included in this article.
- Extract the fonts to your Web Dashboard's JRE/lib/fonts folder.
- Shut down the Web Dashboard process
- Start the Web Dashboard process.

This needs to be updated to reflect the "no jre" distribution of Web Server and that the JDK used must not be the openjdk "headless" version, which doesn't support text rendering.
Is there any chance -- that the FONTS available for a webdashboard hosted on Solaris server and RHEL Linux server may differ ?

This is possible, this happens when the font configured in the dashboard is not installed on the WebServer causing it to look different between platforms.
