Opsview - Windows agent debugging

When using the Opsview Windows Agent, problems may be more easily investigated by enabling "debug" mode.

Prerequisites

• Administrator access on the Windows server

Process

1. As an Administrator user on the Windows server, open the Services app
2. Locate the Opsview NSClient++ Windows Agent service, right click and stop it
3. Open a Command Prompt using Run as Administrator (located in the start menu, right click and select the appropriate option)
4. Type cd "\Program Files\Opsview Agent"
5. Type NSCLient++.exe /test - at this point the service will be started manually and all connections and commands will be logged to screen as they occur

When the debugging session is concluded, type exit to quit the daemon process so you may then restart the service again.
