The rules are applied on the Gateway server so it will follow the time on that server. The exception is if the gateway Controlled Probe active times are used, as described below. The setting is made under the 'Active Times' section of the GSE activeTimes > gatewayControlledProbeActiveTimesBy default the netprobe controls the operation of active times assigned to samplers. When this flag is enabled, the control will be shifted to the gateway, resulting in the gateway messaging the netprobe as and when relevant active times are entered and exited. Enabling the flag allows active times assigned to samplers to have timezones specified, as well as use seconds level resolution. One side effect of enabling this feature is that unless the timezone is explicitly specified in the active time definition, the sampler active times will work according to the timezone on the gateway host. If this feature is not enabled, the sampler active times will work according to the time on the netprobe host. |
