There is a Data Quality feature in the Gateway where temporary suspension is being triggered when the rate of data input exceeds the rate of processing the gateway can perform. |
The Gateway log will contain entries for each netprobe suspension, including how long stale data has occurred and its load contribution to the gateway at the time. See examples below: <Thu Oct 24 04:54:06> WARN: Orb-QueueMonitor Detected stale data 79459ms old, above threshold of 77000ms. <Thu Oct 24 04:58:11> WARN: Orb-QueueMonitor Detected stale data 270736ms old, above threshold of 77000ms. By default, this is a feature in the Gateway when there is data queued from a NetProbe that has not been processed by a specific dataview in 77 seconds. Should we have the alert in this case when the probe connection state turns to "Suspended"? Can we disable this feature of auto suspension? How? Is it advisable to do so? |
The defaults which you may have set have data queued from the Netprobe that has not been processed by a specific Dataview. The Data Quality settings may be found under the Operating Environment > Data Quality tab in the Gateway Setup Editor. For a guide on what configuration would fit your environment setup, you may refer to Geneos Data Quality documentation. You should also review the article on managing load in Geneos. |
