You can achieve it by using maxConditionsPerKey parameter. |
Setting a number for this parameter will restrict the FKM dataview, particularly the trigger to display a defined number of rows, where the latest triggers would be displayed. By default, 1000 rows/lines of triggers is displayed per key. Example: FKM Plugin Basic Configuration - FAIL Key Word is "test"
FKM Plugin Advanced Configuration
Source file for monitoring contains 34 lines with the word "test" in it
FKM Dataview with MaxConditionPerKey set to 5
FKM Dataview Without Setting MaxConditionPerKey |

is there a way to group, "this is just a test" as one message? and then "test" as another message?
Yes, there is an option under the lower Advanced tab "Continue Trigger Scan" (documented here: https://resources.itrsgroup.com/docs/geneos/current/Netprobe/file_monitoring/fkm_tr.html#continueTriggerScan) but you must note that this breaks a number of other features including ignore keys as it tells FKM to check ignore keys but then continue checking other keys too.
