Sample on Startup is a setting available on the Advanced tab of the sampler. It is to control whether the sampler should perform an initial sample on start-up (i.e. when the gateway sends down the sampler configuration to netprobe). This is a Boolean setting (true or false). By default all samplers samples once when the sampler configuration is sent to Netprobe. Setting this parameter to false will prevent this behavior. If Sample on Startup is set to true (by default), the sampler will perform an initial sample on start-up. If Sample on Startup is set to false, the sampler will not perform an initial sample on start-up until the Sample times specified. You will not see any dataview during the startup until after the set sample time. Sample times can be set via the Advanced setting of the sampler, to configure a sampler to sample at specific times. Please note that if Sample times setting is not set, the sampler will still perform an initial sample on start-up even if Sample on Startup is set to false. |
