It is possible to show the overall state of your Managed Entities as dashboard objects by using the Compute Engine and Rules elements of Geneos The below step-by-step guide shows an example of how this can be achieved.
|
Step 1 - Compute Engine Using the compute engine functionality, create a new headline on a sampler of your choice. Using the GSE select a sampler of your choice. Click on the Advanced tab and fill out the Dataviews section. NOTE: The name of should be the SAME as the sampler. Add a Headline and give that a name.
Now you should then see an empty headline cell at the top of the samplers Metrics view in the Active Console, similar to that shown below.
Step 2 - Rule Base The next steps are to create a rule to fill this new cell with data.
Step 3 - Creating the dashboard object Finally, using the drag & drop process (on the created headline) drag it to the Active Dashboard Manager in order to achieve the goal of representing the overall state of the system visually. This can be seen in the below screenshot: |
