The timeDifference is an older metric reported in Hardware plugin. It is the difference in seconds between the Gateway host and the monitored host. A number of factors can introduce a margin of error to this time difference. |

The Netprobe has been enhanced to support monitoring of NTP and newer technologies. As of Geneos version GA5.13.0 (COL-10541), the Hardware plugin can provide the below sources:
We recommend that you use NTP and NTP-related fields, such as timeSyncOffset, as these provide a more accurate measurement of time. |
