Oracle Linux is binary compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and as such, it is also possible to install OP5 Monitor 8 on Oracle Linux. However, while OP5 Monitor is compatible with Oracle Linux, it is not a supported platform.
Installing OP5 Monitor on Oracle Linux 7
To install OP5 Monitor on Oracle Linux 7 you must first enable the Optional repository.
That can be done by:
cd /etc/yum.repos.d/
wget http://yum.oracle.com/public-yum-ol7.repo
Open the file in a text editor and find this section:
[ol7_optional_latest]
name=Oracle Linux $releasever Optional Latest ($basearch)
baseurl=https://yum.oracle.com/repo/OracleLinux/OL7/optional/latest/$basearch/
gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-oracle
gpgcheck=1
enabled=0
And set enabled to 1:
[ol7_optional_latest]
name=Oracle Linux $releasever Optional Latest ($basearch)
baseurl=https://yum.oracle.com/repo/OracleLinux/OL7/optional/latest/$basearch/
gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-oracle
gpgcheck=1
enabled=1
After this, you may start the normal installation process.
