Problem

• Setting up the service check to a soft state after rechecking attempts before going to a hard state is no longer feasible through the REST API. 
• The service check directly goes to a hard state.
• The Detail - Setting no longer includes state_type as possible input for services.
  • Detail - Setting (opsview.com) for Opsview versions 6.7.0 and below.
  • Detail - Setting (itrsgroup.com) for Opsview versions 6.8.0 to the latest version.

Possible Cause(s)

• The functionality is no longer feasible in the REST API due to customer complaints.

Possible Solution(s)

The functionality is still present in the Opsview application but was only removed from the REST API due to customer complaints.

• Opsview UI or Application:

  • The service check is set to a soft state on the first attempt and goes to a hard state after three recheck attempts.

  

  • The max check attempts can be modified in the Edit Configuration for Service Check.
