Geneos - what command does X-Traffic plugin use to obtain the metrics

Answer

The X-Traffic plugin makes use of Npcap or libpcap.so library depending on the operating system.

The plugin needs to open network devices, so the Netprobe should be running with elevated permissions.

• Linux:
  1. root, or equivalent with sudo or setuid commands
  2. for newer Linux versions, enable CAP_NET_RAW and CAP_NET_ADMIN Linux capabilities
• Windows: Administrator permission
